Welcome, Sarah, to FBCS Spiritual Development!

Hello! I am Sarah Stortro, and I am excited to begin work as our new Spiritual Development Director! Although this is my first year in this role, I am not new to Faith. My daughter graduated from Faith last year and I have served on the board at Faith for the past 2 years. As a board member, I oversaw Spiritual Development and enjoyed being involved with the high school ministry team in different capacities.

Other fun facts about me…
I have been married to Joel for 21 years and we have 2 other children Camren (15) and Collin (11). We are adventurers! We love to travel and try new things. Ministry is our heartbeat. I graduated from Multnomah Bible College with a degree in Youth Ministry. We currently lead House Church planted out of the Collective Church in Tigard. I also have led  group ministry for women, small groups, children and youth, prayer. I believe every believer has a spot at the Table of the Kingdom, and every spot is valuable!

Our goal this year is Culture and Community. Community=Common Unity. Our unity point is the cross, and as we fix our eyes on Jesus and what He did for us at the cross, we can find common ground. My heart is that we will embrace Unity across all the campuses. Our culture shifts when we know Who we are and Whose we are!

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity” Psalm 133:3

This fall we are going to study identity preK-12th. At each grade level, we will have Culture and Community time, which will include class chapel, social/emotional health, and community building. We are also excited to be able to post weekly Devotion options for families to enjoy at home.

My goal is to Encourage, Equip and Empower students in their Identity as a Child of God and Kingdom Assignment. And I look forward to getting to know the students and families of Faith Bible.
